Planting media (growing media) are very important to the survival of existing plants. Growing media and soil excavation involves the provision of top soil (fertile soil). 3 m2 shrubs planted area: 3 m2 x 0.5 m (50 cm into the topsoil) = 1.5 m3
4 m2 area of cover crops: 4 m2 x 0.3 m (30 cm depth of top soil) = 1.2 m3
10 m2 lawn area: 10 m2 x 0.2 (20 cm into the top soil) = 2 m3

So the total expenditure for the purchase of top soil is:

5 + 1.5 + 1.2 + 2 = 9.7 rounded up to 10 m3 m3
